Who We Are ?
The Industrial Organization and Functions course, traditionally known as the Simulated Industrial Manufacturing Company (SIMCO), is part of the Advanced Manufacturing Management program. SIMCO is also a required elective course for several other majors within the College of Technology. This class offers students the opportunity to take what they have learned throughout their undergraduate technology and general education programs to apply this knowledge in an integrative experience.
What We Do ?
In the SIMCO course, technology students are grouped into teams to collaborate and use critical thinking techniques to produce ideas in effort to manufacture a quality product to sell to Indiana State University's staff, alumni, & current students. The course is similar to a real industrial experience in that each student will bring to the enterprise various skills, abilities, talents, and knowledge, and all members work together to pool their expertise to achieve the final goal of producing a product of high quality, made to specifications, on schedule, and within a specific budget....
